2021 Audi Q7 Review

Image
Overview Among Audi's athletic lineup of tech-laden luxury cars and SUVs, the 2021 Q7 is the one best suited for family duty. Despite its three rows of seats and slightly stodgy styling, the Q7 maintains the fun-to-drive nature that makes an Audi an Audi. Buyers can choose from two turbocharged engines—a 248-hp four-cylinder or a 335-hp V-6—both of which offer satisfactory pep for everything from in-town errands to highway cruises. Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system is standard, but the sportier models in the lineup make good use of an optional four-wheel steering system and an adaptive air suspension to deliver even more agile handling. The Q7's chief rivals are some of the best luxury three-row SUVs on sale today, including the  BMW X5 , the  Mercedes-Benz GLE , and the  Volvo XC90 . The Audi's all-around skill set makes it a strong competitor to all of them—though it's not as outright sporty as a Porsche Cayenne. What's New for 2021? After a thorough fresh

2021 Audi Q5 Review

Image
Overview For luxury SUV buyers who prioritize style and technology over driving verve, the 2021 Audi Q5 is a handsome choice with plenty to like. It looks good, treats its occupants right, and won't seem out of place at the valet stand next to its rivals. Buyers can choose from regular and plug-in hybrid power-trains and the Q5's chassis delivers a quiet interior and a refined ride—but rivals such as the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, the  BMW X3 , and the Porsche Macan are sportier and more engaging to drive. The Q5 offers enough tech to rival your local Apple store, with a large infotainment display, optional digital gauge display, and a suite of available driver-assistance features. For 2021, the Q5 gains a little extra power and updated styling, but Audi's not addressed its uninspired handling, so it remains a second-tier choice for driving enthusiasts. What's New for 2021? Audi has given the Q5 a light makeover for 2021 to bring its styling up to date with the rest of the lin

2020 Audi A4 Review

Image
Overview If a nice-driving, well-equipped, and handsomely styled luxury sedan is what you're after, make sure the 2020 Audi A4 is on your shopping list. This tech-forward ride offers all of the most popular features, including Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration, driver-assistance features, onboard Wi-Fi, and a digital gauge display, although some are optional extras. The A4 feels more like a smartphone or tablet than rivals such as the  BMW 3-Series  or  Mercedes-Benz C-Class , but that's not saying this Audi doesn't have the moves of a sports sedan. Buyers can choose from one of two turbocharged four-cylinder engines and can have either front- or all-wheel drive; both power-trains offer competitive fuel economy and the more powerful of the two engines offers good accelerative punch. What's New for 2020? Audi's bread-and-butter sports sedan receives a visual refresh for 2020, with updated exterior styling including new front and rear bumpers, tweaks to the grill

2020 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Review

Image
Overview Gateway models sometime fall well short of their more expensive counterparts in a luxury automaker's lineup, but that isn't the case with the C-class. This relatively affordable Benz bears pleasing similarities to the storied  S-Class , and it delivers this goodness at a reasonable price. Its cabin is chic and opulent, and its handling is crisp and engaging. Sedan, coupe, and convertible body styles are offered. The C300 is no slouch in the fun department, but those seeking a little extra kick will want to investigate the AMG variants, which step things up significantly when it comes to performance. I Will review those models, the C43 and C63, separately. What's New for 2020? For the 2020 model year, the Mercedes-Benz C-class adds blind-spot monitoring as standard equipment on all models. Pricing and Which One to Buy  C300 sedan: $42,395  C300 coupe: $46,945  C300 cabriolet: $54,945 We imagine that the sedan body style will be the practical choice for most C-class

2020 Mercedes-Benz G-Class Review

Image
Overview The Mercedes-Benz G-class is a cultural icon and one of the most versatile SUVs on the planet. However, it's also among the most expensive, which caters to the company's elite clientele. A potent twin-turbo V-8 helps move this unmistakable box posthaste, and its sturdy all-wheel-drive system ensures few roads are off limits. The Merc's airy and cargo-friendly cabin includes luxurious amenities and high-tech features. It also can be outfitted with extravagant options, but they'll further inflate the G-wagen's already lofty price. While it isn't as agile or serene as high-dollar alternatives from Bentley and Rolls-Royce, the 2020 G550 has the added bonus of being seriously capable off-road and undeniably cool everywhere else. What's New for 2020? For 2020, Mercedes-Benz doesn't make many changes to the G-class lineup. It does get new options for wheel sizes that range from 18 to 20 inches. The company also introduces the G manufaktur program, whic

2021 BMW 3-Series Review

Image
Overview The 2021 BMW 3-series epitomizes the modern sports sedan with its comprehensive performance and innate sophistication. The German brand offers two phenomenal engines for this model—a 255-hp four-cylinder and a 385-hp straight-six—both of which are as quick as they are refined. There's also a plug-in hybrid for the green crowd. While we're saddened by BMW's decision to eliminate the 3's manual transmission, the perceptive eight-speed automatic is a worthy substitute. What's more, the 3's fantastic chassis can seamlessly shift from calm to frisky at a moment's notice. Unfortunately, its steering—although improved over the previous generation's—still lacks the tactility that enthusiasts once idolized. The 2021 3-series fulfills its mission as an entry-level premium sedan with ample cabin and trunk space as well as copious amounts of luxury and technology. What's New for 2021? Although BMW hasn't divulged the full list of updates to the 3-se
